Saloon Studios is thrilled to continue its Rising Star Series with Cane Mill Road! The band, composed of Deep Gap, North Carolina, natives raised down the road from Doc Watson, strikes a balance between the bluegrass mountain sound of their heritage and rocking progressive interpretations – with great success. Their latest release, “Gap to Gap,” debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart, and Cane Mill Road was showcased by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) in 2017 as the future of bluegrass and represented the USA at a UN World Music Festival in 2015.

OPENING ACT: Aubreana Lovell with guests Wayne Henderson and Fred Cox

Aubreana is a young Ashe County Rising Star. She’s a singer, songwriter, and guitarist with powerful heartfelt vocals, who brings a blend of classic country, modern country, folk, and bluegrass. She won the Mountain Soul Vocal competition held in Sevierville, TN to honor Dolly Parton, the Backwoods Beat Youth Songwriting competition and Carolina in the Fall Youth Songwriting finalist. She will be accompanied by two of her biggest inspirations, her PapPaw Fred Cox, the source of her love of music, on upright bass and world-renowned guitarist, luthier and National Heritage Award recipient, Wayne Henderson. Aubreana recently debuted her first EP album – “Porch Lights.”
